San Francisco, CA- Wrestling immortal Hulk Hogan aka Terry Bollea has died in Los Angeles, CA at 71. Complications from 2 “secret” Spinal Operations left him unable to talk I was told. A few days ago, Hogan left the LA Hospital and it was implied that he had “come home to die”
PUTTING “HULK HOGAN IN PLACE”
In the midst of the WWE/Hogan Steroid Scandal of 1992, I went after him at the George Foreman-Alex Stewart post fight press conference in Las Vegas. And while he literally ran away at first, I stayed on him, microphone in hand.
“TELL ME ABOUT YOUR TAKING STEROIDS, TERRY”
Hogan was “pissed off” because I addressed him by his real name Terry Bollea. I pushed on, “Court transcripts released this week say you are a Steroid user. Can you comment on that please?”
JOB WAS TO “ASK QUESTIONS & GET ANSWERS”
As I was taught in Journalism class, you “stay on a guy/gal until they talk or squeal.” Hogan SQUEALED as he called Top Rank PR gal Dina Duboef who had the friggen nerve to say, “Why are you asking him questions?” Stunned, I said “Because THIS IS A PRESS CONFERENCE and his Steroid admissions are front page Dina.”
GETTING THE LAST WORD IN My parting shot to Hogan, “You’re 300 pounds and you need a 110 lb. chick to protect you.”
ENTERS & LEAVES HBO PARTY “BRISKLY”
Later that evening, HBO had a little party going on and Hogan showed up. When he saw me coming at him, Hulk turned and went outside to get back into a Limo that drove away!
EPITAPH OF TERRY BOLLEA
In closing, Hogan was a magical figure for young wrestling fans. RIP to a figure thought to be immortal, Hulk Hogan.
